The Jessup family hosts an alternative Thanksgiving gathering which they fondly call “Friends United Day.” Several acquaintances of the family showed up, including two women who hitchhiked down from a commune near Cincinnati. “We have an open-door policy,” said Jon. “We like to keep the house open to friends and some of them always come back.”
