2006 – 2007 Hearst Journalism Awards Competitions
The 2006-2007 Hearst Journalism Awards program consists of 13 competitions in college writing, photojournalism, radio and television broadcast news. The competitions began in October with Feature Writing and will continue through March when the final competition, Spot News, takes place. The top ten finalists in each competition will earn scholarship awards with matching grants going to their schools for a total of $217,000. Each participating university also earns a $100 stipend for each competition entered. The top finalists from each competition and their winning work will be featured here. Top winners in each division also qualify to participate in the National Championship in June 2007.
