Bowling Green police Sgt. Shawn Helbig subdues a female student after she refused to cooperate during an incident involving suspected gunmen on Western Kentucky University’s campus. Officials put the university under lockdown during the incident, a policy enacted with the memory of the Virginia Tech massacre still fresh in their minds. There were no deaths or injuries, but classes were canceled for the rest of the day and several people were detained for questioning.
