Jerry Mackey, 43, and his new girlfriend, “Little Bit,” say they are a good match for each other because neither really had a place to call their own. The couple met in a homeless camp that runs along the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tenn. Like a lot of the resident couples in the tent city, they met in the camp. Mackey says that living in the camps is the best thing that has happened to him in awhile and having a girlfriend there makes it even better. “”I was tired of getting spit on everywhere I went, here they took me in and gave me a place to lay my head,” said Mackey.
