George shows Joy a tube that he used to test the water in the hydroponic system that he uses to grow some of the plants. This is part a nightly ritual that Joy and her father share. For a long time at night George would go downstairs to try get the plants in Joy’s garden to grow so they can start making the medicine at home, but growing marijuana is a hard task and they still haven’t been able to cultivate enough to make the medicine themselves. Eventually they told her that he was working on her garden to make her medicine and they let her see it. Now they go down every night so she can sing to her garden.
