The NY Waterway and Billybey Ferry Co. operate the largest privately-owned commuter ferry service in the United States, carrying as many as 30,000 passenger trips per day, mostly as a servce to those living in New Jersey but working in New York City. This essay focuses on the connection that the people of New York City and New Jersey have with water transportation services.
