Malcolm Clements, 56, cuts the bandages from his leg so that he can clean the infection he recently developed from living in the the Auburn. It is a Residential Hotel that houses over a hundred residents in one of the most impoverished regions of San Francisco, the 6th street corridor. About a month ago, Clements was diagnosed with a flesh-eating bacteria and spent three week in intensive care at St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco, where he received a number of surgeries in order to save his leg. He is now trying hard to move out of the Auburn into a larger and safer living space.
