Tina helps Mary get into the car by guiding her hands onto the handle and lifting her body inside. Leaving the house is a rare occasion for Mary, and it only happens when she has mandatory doctor’s appointments. Tina recently thought she might need to take Mary to the hospital.

“She was having a hard time breathing and then she started shaking,” Tina said. “It was almost like, you know, when you’re so cold you’re shivering, and she just couldn’t stop. At the same time she like, ‘I can’t breathe.’” Tina called the EMT’s and they made sure she was okay, concluding that Mary was having a panic attack.

“I think she had a panic attack because she wasn’t feeling good, she couldn’t breathe and she didn’t know what was going on,” Tina said. “She was in panic mode. So I’m grateful that I did keep her home and didn’t let them take her to the hospital. She’s doing much better.” She said Mary has good days and has bad days.
