2015 – 2016 Multimedia Winners
This year marked the sixth Hearst National Multimedia Championship. From the record 238 multimedia entries received in the four monthly competitions, four winners qualified for this special event in San Francisco. The finalists arrived in the city on Monday, May 30th, and immediately met with their judges for orientation and to review their assignment.
This year, the finalists were asked to produce a three-to-five multimedia piece about if and how San Francisco is using technology and innovation to help its disenfranchised population.
The judges received the completed entries by Thursday morning for review. The winners were announced at the awards ceremony that evening. The first-through-third place winners were awarded scholarships of $5,000, $4,000, and $3,000 respectively. The finalist earned a $1,500 scholarship. An additional $1,000 Multimedia Story of the Year Award was selected from the monthly competition entries.
